Jillian + Caleb {a wedding at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska}

DESTINATION WEDDING VIDEO SHORT FILM // ALASKA WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

Growing up in Alaska, Jillian followed through with her childhood dream. As her maid of honor put it, Jillian always wanted to “find a cowboy, marry him, and move far away to a small state called Texas”. Jillian + Caleb met at Liberty University in Virginia, tied the marriage knot in Alaska, and then moved to Texas (Caleb’s home state).

This was our first time in the grand state of Alaska. The size and beauty is overwhelming and we officially broke a record for the amount of location b-roll footage captured for a wedding. Everywhere you go you’ll discover waterfalls, glaciers, unique wildlife, and mountains beyond mountains.

Located a little over an hour away from Anchorage, The Alyeska Resort in Gridwood made the perfect setting for a wedding in Alaska. The highlight of the day was their secret rendezvous on top of a mountain. Caleb patiently awaited his bride as she traveled to the summit in the tram. They were able to see each other and calm their nerves before their wedding ceremony down below.

Working with Jason + Anna Photography was icing on the cake. What a fun and super-talented duo. You’ll have to head over to their photo blog to see what they captured at Jillian + Caleb’s wedding.

What a marvelous adventure. Congrats, Jillian + Caleb!

Sammie + Chris {a destination wedding at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica}

DESTINATION WEDDING VIDEO SHORT FILM  //  JAMAICA WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

Sammie + Chris wanted a simple, intimate wedding in Jamaica, but they also wanted a film to share with their family and friends back in the US. Now, when we say “simple” we mean “simple“. It was just the two of them, Dani and I were the witnesses to the ceremony and the only “guests” at their Jamaican reception. The day started off with a morning ceremony on the beach at Couples Swept Away just north of Negril, Jamaica. Afterwards, we all changed clothes and hopped in the rental car and traveled down into the heart of Negril to explore the cliffs. Eventually we stumbled across a secluded hideaway resort known as Tensing Pen. After enjoying the gorgeous view at Tensing Pen, it was time for us to head back to Swept Away so Sammie + Chris could soak up the last moments of the busy day with a romantic, candlelit dinner for two on the beach.

Above is the short film we created for them and it made its debut at Sammie + Chris’s reception when they returned home in South Carolina. Below are a few photos that we snapped along the way. Ya-mon!

Melania + Louis {a wedding in the Orosí Valley in Costa Rica}

DESTINATION WEDDING VIDEO SHORT FILM // COSTA RICA WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

Is there a better way to kick off the 2015 season than with an incredible wedding in the heart of Costa Rica? Surrounded by rows of coffee plants, waterfalls, hot springs, and volcanoes, Melania + Louis’s wedding was truly breathtaking. Melania + Louis decided to have their wedding ceremony in the country’s oldest Catholic church still in use. The church, Iglesia de San Jose de Orosi, was built in 1743. Later, their festive wedding reception was held at La Casona del Cafetal with an evening backdrop formed by rolling mountains and the pristine Lake Cachí.

Melania + Louis have a deep love for one another and a special relationship and it all started in Kansas when Louis returned from Marine Corps training and Melania was starting her masters at Kansas State University. They met while dancing at Longhorns, a country western bar in Manhattan, Kansas. The next day they bumped into each other at a picnic sponsored by their church. That’s where their story began and brings us to the wedding short film playing above (you might also notice a hint of country western dancing too).
